Freeze Dried Food: I have to carry all my food with me during the race. The rules state that this must be a minimum of 2,000 kcalories per day, 14,000 in total, although I will probably need to eat more than that due to the energy being used. In order to keep the weight down I will need to take freeze dried meals. These cost around £4.50 a pack for the main meals. Breakfast and pudding (essential to meet the calorie requirements) are around £3.50. I also need glucose pastes and isotonic powders to replace salts and minerals. Expedition foods provide these items and you can help by funding some or all of the products I will need. Evening meals £4.50 each total around £31.50 (I need to buy a few more so I can try them out before I go!) Puddings and breakfasts - £3 - £3.50 each total £42 Other high calorie foods, jells and bars around £35 Hydration sachets about £1 each Supplier: Expedition foods |
