grim-challenge-davidOn the 6th December I went to Aldershot for the GRIM Challenge.  This was an 8 mile race across mud, water, mud and more water.  When we arrived there was ice on the puddles - not a good sign.  2000 people entered the race and the organizers state that the most important thing to bring along is a sense of humour.  They were not wrong.  To find out more click on READ MORE ......

Started running on the beach last week.  It is shingle and sand here.  The sand is quite compact so not too hard, but the shingle is incredibly hard - 2 steps forward for one step back.  Up to about 2 miles of beach running incorporated into a 6 mile run.

The Great South Run PDF Print E-mail

The Great South was the first time that I have worn the Water Aid shirt.  Normally I do it for lifeboats and as this is a coastal town the support is pretty awesome, especially when you get around to the RNLI section.  Water Aid does not get the same sort of support.  The run itself was ok.  Last year I had done a lot more training and in spite of an horrendous bout of manflu still managed just over 1 hour 10 mins for the race - top 500 at 45, can't complain I guess.
